This Sweet and Sour sauce takes about 10 minutes to make, and is a great accompaniment for many dishes.
For a milder version use less vinegar and make up the volume with water.
|125 ml (4 fl oz) Vinegar||14|
|75g (2 1/2 oz) Brown sugar||283|
|1 tbsp Cornflour||13|
|2 tbsp Soy sauce||22|
|1 tbsp Lemon juice||3|
Whisk all the ingredients together and bring gently to the boil. Stir until the sauce thickens
You can add pineapple pieces or orange peel to the list of ingredients if you like your sauce with more texture.
