Sweet and Sour Sauce

This Sweet and Sour sauce takes about 10 minutes to make, and is a great accompaniment for many dishes.

For a milder version use less vinegar and make up the volume with water.

125 ml (4 fl oz) Vinegar14
75g (2 1/2 oz) Brown sugar283
1 tbsp Cornflour13
2 tbsp Soy sauce22
1 tbsp Lemon juice3
Total 335

Whisk all the ingredients together and bring gently to the boil. Stir until the sauce thickens

Serve hot.

You can add pineapple pieces or orange peel to the list of ingredients if you like your sauce with more texture.
